Growing up, Diana Hammond was influenced
by many people, including her family, who not only supported her in her creative endeavors, but who also are artistically
gifted themselves. Living in various states, she had the opportunity to experience many rural and urban cultures in such locations
as Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, and South Carolina.
While living in South Carolina, she earned
a Bachelor of Art Studio degree from Coastal Carolina University and fell in love with the area and its vast array of historical
cultures. She wanted to try to capture the beauty that she saw hidden within the borders of SC, which she now calls home.
Winning several national awards for her
artwork, Diana continues to take pleasure in what she calls a hobby and not a career. Displayed for the world to see is her
most inner and personal self: her beliefs, her family, and herself. Using diversified mediums and techniques, Diana yearns
to produce pieces of artwork with subconscious, almost hidden, statements about the beliefs she strongly holds and it is her
hope that everyone who looks at her work will ponder each piece, search beneath the medium and come to understand her beliefs-her
truth...her.
